All
paperwork is initiated by "Weddings in
Jamaica" prior to arrival in Jamaica. Any wedding that
we coordinate is legally recognized by the United States, its territories,
the United Kingdom and Canada.
Documents
Required:
- Proof
of citizenship - Notarized copy of birth certificate, which includes
father's name.
- Proof
of divorce (if applicable) - Notarized copy or original Certificate
of Divorce.
- Notarized
copy of Death Certificate in the case of widow/widower.
- Notarized
copy of Adoption papers reflecting name change.
- Legal
translation of documents to English where originals are in another
language.
Blood
Test: None required
Processing
of Documents:
- All documents must be sent to the resort where you are having your wedding at least thirty (30) days days prior to the wedding date. Some resorts require as much as (60) days prior to your wedding date.
- The marriage officer will give you a copy of the Marriage Certificate upon conclusion of the wedding ceremony.
- Two (2) certified copies of the Marriage Certificate will be sent to you by resort, where you were married. Each resort varies as to the time for mailing of these certificates.
